The governor said the MCAs have no legitimate reason to kick him out.
As the differences between him and the MCAs escalated, Mr Gachagua said the impeachment threats will not make him back down on his stand on financial matters at the county.
"I am informed that these MCAs are now chanting 'Gachagua Must Go', but lets be clear they have no reason to impeach me and they will not succeed," Gachagua said.
He scoffed at the MCAs and maintained that he will not be removed from office because he was legitimately elected by the Nyeri people.

"MCAs have been after me because I am defending your funds and the development budgets. Therefore, I have done nothing wrong and I will not fear their threats," Gachagua warned.
Speaking yesterday when he inspected progress on the refurbishment of the Nyeri Open Air Market yesterday, Gachagua said he will not approve the plans to build a Luxury Health Club for the MCAs.
"Nyeri MCAs want to build a luxury Health Club with steam bath and sauna, and I would like to inform them that these plans have been stopped with immediate effect," said Gachagua.
He added: "I have spoken to the Controller of Budget and informed her that this project is not a priority for the county and she should not approve such a waste of public resources."
Rware MCA Simon Mbogo and Paul Ngiria (Chinga) accompanied the governor.
